How to Measure Your Body
NECK
Wrap the measuring tape around the neck, and place two fingers between the neck and the tape.
SHOULDER WIDTH
Find the spot where the shoulder meets the arm, where a sleeve seam would normally sit. Measure the distance between the shoulder seams straight across the back. The tape should arch up to the base of the neck. You will need someone to help you with this
CHEST
Wrap the measuring tape around the chest. Keep the tape high up under the arms. Keep the tape straight and level at the back. Place one finger between the chest and the tape.
WAIST
Wrap the measuring tape around the chest. Keep the tape high up under the arms. Keep the tape straight and level at the back. Place one finger between the chest and the tape.
SLEEVE LENGTH
Find the spot where the shoulder meets the arm. This is where a sleeve seam would normally sit. Measure from this point down along the arm and end just above the first knuckle of your thumb, making sure your arms are relaxed by your sides. It is better to make this measurement a bit longer than a bit too short.
SHIRT LENGTH
Place the tape where the shoulder and neck seams meet. From this point measure straight downwards to the point where you want the shirt to end, usually around the thumb point.
